For metal cabinets, opt for cold-rolled steel or 304 stainless steel with a thickness of at least 1.0mm; for wood-based cabinets, choose branded multi-layer plywood or high-grade engineered wood with a thickness of 18mm. A solid, durable base material produces a deep, substantial sound when tapped.
Inspection of Craftsmanship Details
Check that edge banding is tight and smooth. For metal cabinets, ensure the electrostatic powder coating is at least 60μm thick and meets salt spray test standards; this significantly enhances moisture and rust resistance.
Testing Hardware and Structure
Operate drawers to ensure slides move smoothly without sticking, and test cabinet doors to verify hinge load-bearing capacity. Opt for a stable structure with a floor-resting bottom panel; this offers several times the deformation resistance of cabinets featuring only thin, nailed-on back panels.
Professional Testing
Use equipment such as abrasion testers and scratch testers to evaluate surface scratch resistance and simulate long-term wear, thereby accurately determining the material's durability limits.
